Independent Coverage of Bali’s Financial Transformation
Bali is becoming a global financial centre.
We're covering every move.
Indonesia is building what could become Asia’s next financial hub: a 498-hectare development off the coast of Denpasar with US$6.3 billion in projected investment and proposed zero percent tax incentives.
RESIDENCY
Living in Bali - The Real Guide
Indonesia has made significant moves to attract foreign residents, remote workers, and high-net-worth investors. The visa options are real. So are the complexities. We cut through the official language and tell you exactly what each pathway involves, what it costs, and how long it actually takes.
No immigration lawyers on commission. No sponsored content. Just the facts.
The three pathways worth knowing:
The Second Home Visa offers 5 or 10 year residency with no employer required. Designed for retirees, passive investors, and second-home buyers. Minimum capital requirement of approximately $130,000 USD held in an Indonesian bank account. Family members included.
The Golden Visa is the investor pathway. Entry from $350,000 USD into government bonds, IDX-listed shares, or qualifying property. 5 or 10 year residency with priority processing. Directly aligned with the IFC family office ecosystem being built at KEK Kura Kura.
The E33G Remote Worker Visa is the legal route for digital nomads and remote professionals. Minimum annual income of $60,000 USD. Valid for 12 months. Income must come entirely from outside Indonesia. Working remotely in Bali on a tourist visa is illegal, this is the clean pathway.
What we cover in our Residency section:
Honest breakdowns of each visa pathway with real timelines and real costs. Banking, healthcare, and the practical infrastructure of daily life as a foreign resident. Property ownership rules for foreigners, what is and is not possible. The growing retirement and long-stay market adjacent to the IFC development.
