Independent Coverage of Bali’s Financial Transformation
Bali is becoming a global financial centre.
We're covering every move.
Indonesia is building what could become Asia’s next financial hub: a 498-hectare development off the coast of Denpasar with US$6.3 billion in projected investment and proposed zero percent tax incentives.
ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION
Editorial Policy
Bali Business News exists to cover the emergence of Bali as a global financial centre. This page sets out how we work, what we will and will not publish, and where we stand on independence, accuracy, and accountability.
Who We Are
Bali Business News is an independent digital publication focused on the Indonesia Financial Center initiative, investment and currency, residency and relocation, and the economic transformation underway in Bali. We are published by Indonesia Central.
We have no affiliation with the Indonesian government, no connection to Kura Kura Bali, and no financial relationship with any of the entities we cover.
Independence
Our editorial decisions are made independently. Stories are selected, researched, and written based on relevance to our readers, not on the preferences of governments, investors, or commercial partners.
We do not accept payment for coverage. We do not publish sponsored content presented as editorial. We do not allow advertisers or partners to influence what we write or how we write it.
We are published by Indonesia Central. That relationship covers publishing infrastructure only. Indonesia Central has no editorial input into what Bali Business News publishes.
What We Cover and Why
We cover Bali's financial transformation because it is a significant story that is not being adequately reported. The Indonesia Financial Center initiative represents one of the largest economic bets in Southeast Asia's recent history. The people most affected, foreign investors, relocators, expats on the ground, and anyone watching from abroad, deserve accurate, independent information to make real decisions.
We are not cheerleaders for the IFC. We are not sceptics for the sake of scepticism. We report what is happening, assess it honestly, and let readers draw their own conclusions.
Standards for Sourcing
We rely on primary sources wherever possible: official government announcements, ministerial statements, published regulatory documents, company filings, and direct interviews. We name our sources when they are on the record. Where sources speak off the record, we will say so and explain why.
We do not reprint press releases as news. If a press release contains genuinely newsworthy information, we verify it independently before reporting.
We do not publish claims we cannot verify. Where something is uncertain, contested, or based on incomplete information, we say so explicitly.
Accuracy and Corrections
We aim to get things right before we publish. When we make errors, we correct them promptly, transparently, and without burying the correction.
Corrections appear in the original article with a clear note explaining what was wrong and what the correct information is. We do not delete articles to avoid accountability for mistakes.
If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, contact us at editor@balibusinessnews.com. We will investigate and respond.
Conflicts of Interest
We disclose any relationship that could reasonably create the appearance of a conflict of interest. If a writer has a personal or financial stake in a topic they are covering, that will be disclosed in the article or the writer will not cover that topic.
None of the people involved in producing Bali Business News hold positions in, or have financial interests in, the entities central to our coverage, including the Kura Kura Bali SEZ, Danantara, or related government bodies.
What We Will Not Publish
We will not publish content that functions as promotion dressed as journalism. We will not publish unverified market speculation presented as fact. We will not publish content that could reasonably mislead readers about the status, progress, or risks of the IFC development or any investment opportunity connected to it.
We do not provide investment advice. Nothing published on Bali Business News should be read as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset, currency, or investment product. We cover the story. Decisions about capital are yours.
Our Relationship with Readers
Our readers are sophisticated. They are investors, professionals, and people making real decisions about where to live and work. We write accordingly. We do not oversimplify, and we do not tell people what they want to hear when the honest picture is more complicated.
We do not use paywalls. Everything we publish is free to read. We are supported by our publishing relationship with Indonesia Central, not by reader subscriptions or advertiser revenue.
